Brain imaging and diagnostic review in a clinical setting

Assessments

Comprehensive, objective and thorough assessments to support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning and legal decision-making.

Our Assessment Services

We offer a wide range of specialized assessments to address physical, cognitive, psychological and functional challenges resulting from motor vehicle accidents.

Occupational Therapy Assessments

Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessment

Evaluates a client’s ability to perform personal care, household, caregiving, and other daily activities following an accident. The assessment identifies functional limitations and potential needs for attendant care, housekeeping, caregiving, or assistive devices.

Attendant Care Needs Assessment

Evaluates a client’s need for assistance with personal care and other activities of daily living resulting from accident-related impairments.

Ergonomic Assessment

Evaluates a client’s work environment and physical work demands to identify ergonomic risks and recommend modifications that may support a safe and sustainable return to work.

Functional Cognitive Assessment

Evaluates how cognitive difficulties, such as problems with attention, concentration, memory, organization, and problem-solving, affect a client’s everyday functioning. The assessment identifies practical cognitive limitations and provides recommendations for strategies, supports, and rehabilitation to improve functional independence.

Future Care Cost Assessment

Identifies anticipated future medical, rehabilitation, attendant care, equipment, and support needs related to accident-related impairments.

Home Safety Assessment

Evaluates the home environment for accessibility, safety concerns, and barriers to independence and identifies potential equipment or environmental modifications.

Hospital Discharge Assessment

Assesses a client’s needs before discharge from hospital and helps coordinate recommendations to support a safe and successful transition home.

In-Home Assessment

Evaluates how accident-related injuries affect a client’s ability to safely manage household, caregiving, and home maintenance activities within their home environment.

Occupational Therapy Assessment

Evaluates the impact of accident-related injuries on a client’s ability to perform daily activities, including personal care, household tasks, mobility, and other functional activities. The assessment identifies functional limitations and provides recommendations to support independence, safety, and rehabilitation.

Diagnostic Imaging & Testing

CT Scan

Uses computerized X-ray imaging to create detailed cross-sectional images of internal structures for diagnostic evaluation.

Electromyography (EMG)

Evaluates electrical activity in muscles and nerve function to help identify certain nerve, muscle, or neuromuscular abnormalities.

MRI

Uses magnetic resonance imaging to produce detailed images of internal structures and assist in evaluating certain musculoskeletal, neurological, and other medical conditions.

Physical Assessments

Biomechanical & Gait Assessment

Evaluates movement patterns, posture, walking mechanics, balance, and functional mobility to identify limitations associated with accident-related injuries.

Chronic Pain Assessment

Evaluates persistent accident-related pain, functional limitations, and factors contributing to ongoing pain to support appropriate treatment and rehabilitation planning.

Concussion & Balance Assessment

Evaluates balance, coordination, dizziness, and other functional difficulties associated with concussion or related neurological symptoms.

Dental / TMJ Assessment

Evaluates jaw and temporomandibular joint conditions, including jaw pain, restricted movement, clicking, locking, grinding, and difficulties with oral activities.

Dietitian / Nutrition Assessment

Evaluates nutritional needs and provides individualized recommendations to support health, energy, recovery, and management of nutritional concerns following an accident.

ENT Assessment

Evaluates accident-related conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, hearing, balance, and related functions.

Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE)

Objectively evaluates physical and functional abilities, including strength, mobility, endurance, lifting, carrying, and other activities relevant to daily living and employment.

Neuro-Optometry Assessment

Evaluates visual, perceptual, and oculomotor difficulties that may occur following concussion, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological conditions.

Neurological Assessment

Evaluates persistent neurological symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, sensory changes, visual disturbances, weakness, or radiating pain and provides diagnostic and prognostic recommendations.

Neurosurgical Assessment

Evaluates conditions involving the brain, spine, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system where neurosurgical expertise may be required.

Optometry Assessment

Evaluates vision changes and visual difficulties following an accident and determines whether corrective measures or further ophthalmological investigation may be appropriate.

Orthopaedic Assessment

Evaluates musculoskeletal injuries involving the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and other structures, including diagnosis, prognosis, treatment needs, and potential surgical considerations.

Physiatry Assessment

Provides a comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation assessment for ongoing musculoskeletal and functional impairments, with recommendations for appropriate rehabilitation and management.

Physical Demand Analysis (PDA)

Documents the physical requirements of a specific occupation and compares those requirements with the client’s current functional abilities and limitations.

Plastic Surgery Assessment

Evaluates accident-related scarring, disfigurement, soft-tissue injuries, and other conditions where plastic surgical expertise may be relevant.

Podiatry / Chiropody Assessment

Evaluates foot and lower-extremity conditions affecting pain, mobility, gait, balance, and functional activities.

Vocational Assessment

Evaluates the impact of accident-related impairments on employment, work capacity, vocational functioning, and potential future occupational options.

Work Site Assessment

Evaluates the physical and functional demands of a client’s occupation to help determine appropriate modified duties, accommodations, and return-to-work requirements.

Psychological & Cognitive Assessments

Academic Assessment

Evaluates academic, cognitive, and learning abilities where accident-related symptoms may be affecting educational performance and participation.

Capacity Assessment

Assesses an individual’s ability to understand, evaluate, and communicate informed decisions independently, and identifies any need for decision-making support.

Driver’s Anxiety / Driving Reintegration Assessment

Assesses accident-related anxiety, psychological barriers, and driving-related functional abilities through clinical and in-car evaluation to identify limitations and support a safe return to pre-accident level of function.

Neuropsychiatric Assessment

Evaluates the interaction between neurological, cognitive, behavioural, and psychiatric symptoms to assist with diagnosis, treatment planning, and rehabilitation recommendations.

Neuropsychological Assessment

Provides an in-depth evaluation of cognitive and psychological functioning, including attention, memory, processing speed, executive functioning, language, and emotional or behavioural changes following head injury.
